About Cheval Escapes
Creating meaningful connections through curated retreats in the heart of Normandy

A note from the founder :
Hi, I'm Vanessa!
Cheval Escapes was born from a deep love of horses, nature, and the transformative power of shared experiences. What began as a personal journey to create a sanctuary in the Normandy countryside has evolved into a space where others can disconnect, reconnect, and create lasting memories.
We discovered the magic that happens when people step away from their daily routines and immerse themselves in nature, authentic experiences, and meaningful connections. This vision became the foundation of Cheval Escapes.
Today, we welcome private groups, brands, and teams to our estate, offering tailored retreats that blend the tranquility of the French countryside with curated experiences designed to inspire, restore, and connect.
With warmth, With love,
Vanessa
Our Vision
To create a space where people can slow down, connect authentically, and experience the restorative power of nature, horses, and community
Authentic Connection
We believe in creating genuine experiences that foster real connections between people, nature, and themselves.
Mindful Hospitality
Every detail is considered with care, from the spaces we create to the experiences we curate for our guests.
Sustainable Approach
We honor the land, support local communities, and operate with respect for the environment and future generations.
What We Believe
Time in nature restores balance
The countryside offers a natural antidote to modern life, creating space for reflection and renewal.
Horses teach us presence
Working with horses invites us to be fully present, honest, and connected to the moment.
Shared experiences create lasting bonds
Whether with friends, family, or colleagues, meaningful experiences together strengthen relationships.
Quality matters more than quantity
We focus on creating depth and authenticity rather than rushing through experiences.
Every retreat should be unique
Your group, your goals, and your vision deserve a tailored approach, not a one-size-fits-all package.

History of the Manor
The Manoir d'Argentel was built at the end of the 17th century. From the 17th to the 20th century, it was successively called Château d'Argentelle (see 19th century photo), then Château d'Argentel and finally, Manoir d'Argentel.
Several members of the Le Provost de Miette family successively owned the estate (from at least 1739 to 1830).
Later, Louis-Adolphe, Baron Humbert de Molard, became the owner of the Château d'Argentelle. He is best known for the important role he played in the history of photography (which he became interested in as early as 1843). His photographic collections (mainly portraits, hunting scenes, and landscapes) are dispersed among the Musée Gatien Bonnet in Lagny-sur-Marne, the Musée Nicéphore Niépce, the Musée d'Orsay, the Bibliothèque Nationale, and the Société Française de la Photographie
